How to Put Wood Patch
A patch of sheet
If the plate is taken off by one corner, sand the old glue and then apply new glue with a brush.
In a block of wood glues a piece of masking tape (to keep from sticking to the patch), place the heel on the plate detached and presses both with the help of a sergeant.
If the plate is badly damaged in one area, you can replace it with a new piece.
The new sheet metal piece must be of the same thickness as the wood and furniture. Must be positioned so that the drawing of the veins match.
You put a rectangular piece of metal on the break, which is a little bigger, trying to marry veins. The subject at the edges with tape to keep it from moving.
Now with the rule and the short cutter longitudinally the two plates while shaping a diamond for example (the squares are horrible).
Peel away the veneer and diamond piece, clean the broken, battered and take the edge off old glue scratch without leaving the marked area. Adjust the patch and the excess sanding the edges. Then hit the new patch and glue to the hole and clean, place a block of wood covered with adhesive tape and presses a few hours with the sergeant or cat.
Wait an hour sanding the surface.
Fix a bag on the plate
Can be arranged on the bag by placing a damp cloth and iron, the humidity and heat soften the glue. You pull the cloth and apply pressure on the bump with the sergeant and a block of wood.
If this system is not enough, you can make a cut in X with the cutter on the bag, gently remove all the old glue and pressing with the heel and the sergeant.
A few hours later, sanding the edges remaining in the plate, so that the surface is completely smooth.
A patch of solid wood
If you want to plug a hole in a solid wood furniture, you have a piece cut longitudinally in the same timber. This will be somewhat larger than the hole to cover, and be like putting a cork in a bottle.
Instead of cutting the thickness at right angles, you give a little tilt to the mountains. So that fits like a cap.
You put the new piece over the hole, the profiles on the surface with a pencil and then remove the excess edge and smooth the hole with a chisel.
Glue both surfaces, enter the new piece until it fits like a cap, add pressure and take away a few hours after the scrap wood with a chisel and sandpaper.
Sometimes, the nicest of a surface patch is a good place, a good patch. So with a little practice you can make patches with a funny profile.
