Video Capture is easy
Video capture is the process of transferring video from camera to computer. Not long ago, moving video from the camera to the computer was not a cheap or easy process and took some very expensive equipment. Now, it's almost automatic, plug and play connections and new software have made this process very simple.
There are several video capture and editing software suite on the market in different price ranges. Computers running Windows XP come with a basic video capture and editing program called Windows Movie Maker, which works fine for video capture.
I have two suites on my computer and have VideoStudio10 Plus Ulead and Sony Vegas Plus V6.0. Which ever one you are using and then open the program and connect the camera via the firewire cable. By connecting the camera normally launch the appropriate video capture on your computer for sure if you use XP. Make sure the camera is set to 'plaback'.
Learning to use the video capture and editing software and be familiar with the course it.Of there's nothing like learning as you go and capture the video is very simple, however. The software will check your camera so you can locate and copy the best of the video shot in your computer. It 's really that easy. Give your video a name or an appropriate project file and you are ready to begin editing.
One thing you must decide at this stage is the file format to save files into DV-AVI is the format of choice because it is the native format of the camera and there will be no loss of quality in the transfer. The downside is that the saved files will be great. Another decision to make is whether you want the video and audio channel (DV1) or on separate channels (DV 2) when the video clip is being edited on the timeline editing software.
Once captured, then we will be able to edit the video, as already said, but this is another step for another day.
Depending on the digital camera, computer, and the combination of video editing software you may be able to capture your video footage directly into your video editing software as it is recovering.
This is a great idea for your first video or two, because you can play quickly and keep grip on the computer screen large. Most computers with Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker will allow you to capture video from a digital camera with a Firewire connection. Logitech do this using a USB connection. Make sure that the firewire cable is long enough for ease of use .......
