Review - Sony Ebook Reader PRS-505 offers an enjoyable read

When people say that they have no interest in reading an ebook, what they really mean is that they do not want to sit and read a lot of work on a computer screen. But with a dedicated ebook reading device, such as the Sony PRS-505, reading an ebook becomes an excellent experience. The main difference comes from a computer screen ebook reader from Sony is the technology that supports e-ink screen reader. The e-ink system allows for the use of low power (that is the great) comfortable reading. The text is crisp and clear and can be read without eye strain for long periods in both artificial and natural light. Unlike the screen of a laptop, the screen of the Sony ebook reader has no reflection in the sunlight. In essence, the reading experience feels exactly like watching the pages of a book. In fact, once it becomes absorbed in a novel, I found my thumb trying to physically transform a sheet of paper because my brain assumes that I was holding a book.

The user interface for the Sony PRS-505 is also easy to learn and use. I was able to understand quickly most of the navigation system is no learning curve. Understand how to move between ebook and browse titles ebooks took only moments. The menu choices are obvious and make sense - very refreshing in a gadget! No phone baffling oddity here.
The navigation in an ebook is well laid out. You can access the table of contents and go directly to specific chapters in the ebook. You can also just "start" page through the ebook and start. The finest feature is the choice "continue reading", which automatically takes the last place you were viewing in the ebook. This is extremely useful for someone like me who is chronically plagued by Gremlins (both real and imaginary) that take the bookmarks from my paper books.

In addition, the ebook reader has a button that allows you to mark bookmark any page of the ebook. Bookmarks that are made for any particular title are stored in the title menu, where you can easily access the pages marked for later review.

The system interfaces the ebook reader with your computer or laptop is also easy to use. This ebook library management software lets you upload files from your computer or access to the Sony ebook store online. Because you can easily upload files from your computer, you are also free to get the files into a format ebook from any source.

The Sony ebook reader connects to the computer with a USB cable. Once connected, the interface library ebook reader will add to its display, and you can easily add ebooks from the library computer to the player by dragging the files. Similarly you can remove files from the ebook portable reader by dragging files into the library.

About my only criticism of the ebook reader from Sony is that the small buttons to advance the pages lack perfection. I find them a bit 'stiff and positioning both is not an optimal fit for my hands. This may not be the case for all users because they are certainly an ergonomically difficult personality. The Sony ebook reader has two ways to advance the pages, then one or both options can work well for other users.

As with most specialized gadgets, you need to know where to find content for your Sony ebook reader. Sure, Sony has its own ebook store integrated with the system, but like other sellers and Baen.com Fictionwise.com serve the Sony ebook reader market as well. EBook by small publishers and individual artists are also abundant .......
